I sometimes joke that my degree, a BA in Environmental and Climate Change Studies from University of Montana in 2012, is just an expensive lesson in managing anxiety and depression, because you learn how to save the world, and really want to, just to be crushed by “you can’t because not enough people care.” Ouch.

But then I had a daughter in 2021, Maesyn, who lived and died amid so much trauma, grief, and loss, and I watched her do more good in 115 days of life than I could have dreamed. Nothing has felt impossible since.

Change doesn’t happen when people are told what to do. It happens when they choose to do the hard thing, to make a new path, to believe they have an impact around them, because each and every one of us does. That is CARE, not just consulting.
